Frequently Asked Questions

 

1) Do I need to be an awesome runner or be in excellent shape to participate?

     Absolutely not! This is a fun-run geared toward all ages, shapes and sizes.  You may    

     run, walk, crawl or sprint - whatever gets you to the finish line!  

 

2) What is the cost?

     The cost for advanced registration is $20, plus $5 if you would like a tee-shirt.    

     Registration after May 18th or the day of the Color Dash will be $25, without a tee-

     shirt.  There will be a limited number of additional tee-shirts for sale the day of the

     race for $7. 

 

3) What is included with registration?

     Each registered runner who has registered prior to the tee-shirt deadline will receive a       custom tee-shirt and a color packet. For those who register after the deadline, they             will receive a color packet.  

 

4) What is the tee-shirt deadline?

     The tee-shirt deadline is May 18, 2016.  Please mark on the registration form your

      desired size. 

 

5) Can I buy a tee-shirt after the deadline?

     A limited number of tee-shirts will be available for purchase the day of the race for $7.      Additional youth sized tee-shirts will not be available for purchase.  

 

6) May children participate?

     Of course!  Children 5 and under are free, but must participate with a registered        

     adult 18+.  Youth sized tee-shirts are available for purchase for $5.

 

7) Is the race course pet friendly?

     For the safety of our participants and animal friends, we do not allow animals at the    

     race. 

 

8) Is the race course stroller friendly?

     Due to the nature of the course, it is not stroller friendly, however, there will be a    

     modified course route for those who would like to bring their strollers.  Note, the

     course is over grass, gravel, dirt, and hills, and still not ideal for umbrella type

     strollers.

 

9) Is this race timed?

     The Color Dash is a fun-run and is not timed.  It generally takes about 45 -60 minutes to

     complete the course.   

 

10) What should I wear?

       We suggest wearing comfortable clothing you wouldn't mind getting colorful.   

  

11) How is the color administered along the course?

       There are six different color stations located along the course.  There will be smiling
       faces at each station that will splatter colorful powder on you as you pass by.  The 

       powder will stick to you and your clothing, covering you with a colorful kaleidoscope  

       of fun!  

 

12) Is the color washable?

       The color is washable from skin and hair, and most does wash out of clothing.  As with
       anything dirty, the sooner the item is washed, the better.  
     

      * Some people bring a towel to sit on in their car after the race so that the color does  

        not transfer to their car seats.  

 

13) What happens if there is inclimate weather?

       The Color Dash is a rain or shine event.  A little rain won't hurt, in fact, it makes the    

       color brighter and stick better.  No refunds due to Mother Nature throwing a temper

        tantrum (any major weather concerns).  

 

14) Should I pick up my race packet early?

       There is no need to pick up your race packet early.  We offer plenty of time the    

       morning of the race to get your packets. 

 

15) When is the color packet thrown?

       You may throw the contents of your color packet any time you wish.  

       However, only one packet is included with your registration.  Generally the

       color packet is thrown at the end of the run where everyone gathers for one

       final color splash. 

 

16) Are there additional color packets available for purchase?

       Additional color packets will be available for puchase the day of the run for $2.  

17) Should I bring money for food and drink?

       No need!  Water, Kind bars, and bananas are all provided after the run.
